Sistematični pregled sprejemanja [1] in analiza strukture subvencij [2][3] dosledno ugotavljata, da je politika prevladujoč dejavnik — kar je drugačen način reči, da je isti avto drugačna finančna ponudba, odvisno od tega, kje je registriran.

Učinki politike na sprejemanje EV

Intenzivnost omrežja je spremenljivka emisij

Električni avto zapusti tovarno z dolgom ogljika zaradi proizvodnje baterij in ga odplačuje na razdalji z manjšimi emisijami pri uporabi. Kako hitro ga odplačuje, je skoraj v celoti odvisno od električne energije, ki jo črpa. Na nizkoogljičnem omrežju je razdalja do preboja kratka; na omrežju, ki temelji na premogu, pa je veliko daljša.

Dve asimetriji sta v korist EV ne glede na vse. Omrežja se sčasoma dekarbonizirajo, zato postane avto čistejši skozi svojo življenjsko dobo, medtem ko avto na notranje zgorevanje ne. Spodbude se hitro spreminjajo

Subvencije za nakup, obravnava DDV, obdavčitev podjetniških vozil, oprostitve cestnin, dostop do mest in parkirne privilegije se razlikujejo po državah in se nekatere letno spreminjajo. Vse, kar je objavljeno o njih, ima kratko življenjsko dobo, zato ta stran obravnava te podatke kot tiste, ki jih je treba osvežiti, namesto kot prozo, ki jo je treba napisati enkrat.

Spremeni velikost prednosti in razdaljo do preloma stroškov. Pri praktično vsakem evropskem omrežju odgovor še vedno govori v prid EV.
Ali se splača čakati na spodbude?
Pogosto se spreminjajo, tako navzgor kot navzdol. Nakup na podlagi govoric o prihodnji shemi je hazardiranje.
Kje najdem intenzivnost svojega omrežja?
Objavljajo jo nacionalni operaterji omrežja in Evropska agencija za okolje, pogosto v realnem času.
